Destination Taipei

The modern face of Taipei shines through with its glass and steel skyscrapers, wide boulevards, and the world’s tallest building, Taipei 101. Taipei boasts dozens of world-class performance venues, where you can enjoy world-class theater and concert events. The city also offers a wide range of other diversions – shopping malls, nightclubs, live-music bars, quality hotels, and exotic restaurants. In addition, Taipei is a paradise for gourmets to taste the varied delicate and delicious cuisines, such as local snacks, Hakka dishes, Chinese cuisines, and unique aboriginal foods. Gourmets may try the foods with local flavors in the night markets and have exquisite dining in five-star hotels. It is absolutely a place that tourists may not want to miss.

Taipei enjoys a subtropical climate with warm weather all year round. Taipei is suitable for traveling, as the annual average temperature is a comfortable 25 degrees Celsius with lowest temperatures ranging from 12 to 17 degrees Celsius (54-63 Fahrenheit). It will be around 19-21 degree Celsius in November in Taipei.
Taipei is 8 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
Taipei uses electric current of 110 volts at 60 cycles, appliances from Europe, Australia or South-East Asia will need an adaptor or transformer.

 
The official currency is the New Taiwan Dollar (NT$). Foreign currencies can be exchanged at government-designated banks and hotels. Major credit cards such as American Express, Master Card, and Visa are accepted and traveler’s checks may be cashed at foreign-exchange banks, some tourist-oriented businesses, and most international tourist hotels.
Tipping is not customary in Taipei, but some hotels and restaurants automatically add a 10% service fee to the bill.
VAT Refund Requirements:

  • Foreign travelers holding non-ROC passports, ROC passports without registered household, or a re-entry permit.
  • Foreign travelers who make purchases of at least NT$3,000 (USD100) on the same day from the same Tax Refund Shopping (TRS)-posted store, are eligible for a refund of the 5% VAT paid on those purchased goods. To claim the refund, they must apply at the port of their departure from the R.O.C. within 30 days following the date of purchase, and they must take the purchased goods out of the country with them.

VISA Application

Before visiting Taipei, please check your visa requirements and make sure you have a valid visa.

e-Visa Application

Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs now provides e-Visa for delegates to attend APVRS Congress and we are obliged to apply the e-code for you which is an important key while you apply the e-Visa. If you would like to apply the e-code, please provide the following required documents (clear and legible) by email to the APVRS Secretariat (registration@apvrs.org) before September 18, 2020:

 

  1. Passport copy
  2. Flight itinerary (issued by an airline company or travel agency)
  3. Hotel reservation (issued by a hotel or travel agency)

大陸地區專業人士申請來台

大陸地區專業人士參加第14屆亞太黃斑視網膜學會年會申請入臺證流程，請參見以下說明。 請務必先完成線上報名APVRS 2020，並支付注冊費用，入台證申請費爲每人美金70元整(此筆費用不予退費)。

 

請注意：依規定持許可證停留期限 始於大會前一日(11月5日)、終於大會結束後一日(11月9日) 如有安排其他私人行程，主辦單位恕無法擔保申請。

 

 


 

各步驟資料繳交說明如下：

2020年8月3日前
申請人向所在學校或單位國際事務處諮詢來台相關流程。
2020年8月14日前
申請人將下述資料電郵至registration@apvrs.org，並完成申請費匯款，大會協助申請「臺灣地區入出境許可證」:

  1. 大陸地區人民入出臺灣地區申請書(請點選下載，資料填寫越完整越容易通過)
    以繁體字填入，申請表上親屬欄為必填欄位，英文姓名須與其護照或大陸居民往來臺灣通行證之英文姓名相同。
  2. 在職（在學）證明
    每人一份，需任職6個月以上，一個月內開在職(在學)證明。請用學校或單位的信紙輸出，內容需有出具日期、單位主管(聯絡人)及聯繫方式，並加蓋任職單位章(備註：現任職單位，除黨、政、軍職外，另具有「人大代表」、「政協委員」及「台辦」 身份者，均應據實填寫)。
  3. 專業證明
  1. 個人證件
    • 有效期六個月以上的《大陸居民往來臺灣通行證》或其它旅行證件複印件（但不包含港澳通行證）
    • 居民身份證正反面。
  1. 最近一年內彩色白底照片
    高4.5公分且寬3.5公分、脫帽、未戴有色眼鏡、五官清晰、不遮蓋、足資辨識人貌、人像自頭頂至下顎之長度不得小於3.2公分及超過3.6公分、白色背景之正面半身薄光面紙彩色照片，並與所持居民身分證、通行證能辨識為同一人。
  2. 申請費匯款憑證

 

大會協助申請通過後，將提供：

1.      臺灣地區入出境許可證

2.      大會邀請函

3.      邀請單位簡介

4.      專業活動計畫書及行程表

5.      赴台人員名單

2020年9月18日前
申請人備齊下列臺灣的入台許可證批件向大陸國台辦辦理：

  • 「臺灣地區入出境許可證」彩色列印
  • 大會邀請函
  • 邀請單位簡介
  • 專業活動計畫書及行程表
  • 赴台人員名單
    (工作天數：約至少5 – 10天)
2020年10月2日前
申請人以入台許可證批件及國台辦批件至省公安機關出入境管理部門辦理，「大陸居民往來臺灣通行證」應備文件：

  • 國台辦「赴台批件」
  • 「臺灣地區入出境許可證」彩色列印
  • 大會邀請函
  • 身分證正本、影本
  • 戶口本正本、影本
  • 2吋照片4張

(工作天數：約至少15天)

 

注意事項：

  1. 申請入台所有表格，請依照臺灣移民署規定，請勿變更表格內容，以免造成無法申辦情形。
  2. 辦理入台證需時3週進行初步資料查閱及申請相關文件，若已將入台證材料提交移民署進入程序審查階段，而臨時要取消辦理入台證者或已經核發入台證要撤銷者，將無法退費。
  3. 預計來台之與會者眷屬，由於申請資料不同，煩請自行於境內旅行社辦理旅行簽證，造成不便之處，敬請見諒。
  4. 除臺灣地區申請手續外，大陸地區入台申請手續亦約需一至二個月時程，若逾時申請，請自行洽詢台灣當地之旅行社以觀光名義辦理旅簽。
  5. 原訂入出境台灣行程若有變動，請務必提前告知大會承辦人員，以便向移民署辦理報備手續。
